Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during the initial Assessment / Consultation?
In our initial consultation and assessment meeting I want to get to know you! I conduct an extremely thorough assessment, going beyond other trainers and club evaluations. We’ll discuss and analyze your medical history, health history, postural and structural alignment, past injuries, age, family history, life habits, etc. – all while empathetically listening to your unique goals and personal needs. I will have you perform basic movement patterns, stretches, strength and cardiovascular tests. In this 60 minute meeting I want to do all that I can to understand your needs and level of conditioning so that I can prescribe the best fitness solution to help you reach your goals. Skin fold caliper and circumference measurements will be logged to assess ongoing body composition changes, however this is an option you can decline.
What clothing should I wear for the initial Assessment / Consultation or for my training sessions?
Dress in comfortable athletic apparel. Breathable athletic style clothing that will allow you to move freely is recommended. I also recommend athletic shoes, preferably cross training, running or walking shoes.
How much space do we need to workout?
We only need a small amount of space to train. We can move the coffee table in your living room, workout in the basement or dedicate a very small amount of space to fitness. An 8\’ x 8\’ area is all that we really need. I also like to train clients outdoors, at the beach or at the office. We can workout almost anywhere!
What strength training equipment do I need?
I will bring all of the equipment necessary to complete your workout. I carry in a duffel bag of equipment ranging from medicine balls, resistance bands & tubing to dumbbells, stability balls and other functional training equipment.
What if I travel and/or cannot commit to a regularly scheduled appointment?
It is best to try and schedule your appointments consistently and to keep yourself accountable to build a routine. That being said, I will do everything I can to accommodate my client’s schedule. Furthermore, you’ll learn fitness programs that you can incorporate into your travels.
I have a gym at work, can we workout there?
I am a licensed and insured Personal Trainer. I will train you at home, at work, at the beach or at my private studio. We have any option available.
How long before I begin to see changes in my body?
I have carefully designed a totally unique and results-oriented phased approach to fitness and strength training. My programs are designed to help my client reach their goals. By following my training programs you can feel results immediately and will see results in as little as 6 weeks at 3 sessions per week!
What can I expect from my Personal Trainer?
I will show up at your location on time and prepared for your session. I will bring the equipment, motivation and guidance, and will be ready to start at your scheduled appointment time. I will treat you, your family and your home with compassion and respect. I will do everything that I can to keep our exercise session safe, challenging and results-oriented.
